I usually find little useful in ‘mainstream news’ EXCEPT the Olympics. Athletes train all year round so that we can watch them once a year or once every four years for the Olympics. I noticed as I watched as a Canadian the Gold Medal Hockey Womens Game. I am bringing to your attention the medal presentation on the ice. Canada is well known for being multicultural and a country of PEACE, we have lost many of our Canadians in First,Second World wars and also Afghanistan; but we remain open to freedom and any peoples that need help; for that I am proud.
When the U.S.A. lost their expected Gold Medal; let me comment; So many athletes this year (as I have been able to watch everyday) are THRILLED TO GET A SILVER.
Yet this is what I viewed: When the silver medal was being hung around the necks of the American Team, I watched their faces and emotions. This is what I saw; It was almost like being awarded a medal for being the “loser”. the smiles seemed ‘cordial’ on most but less than satisfied. Not much thrilled by achieving a silver medal burt seemingly more cognizant of NOT HAVING WON THE GOLD.
Now to the point: How do expectations affect us personally hour to hour? I know from observation that in a day period it usually occupies at least 70% of thinking! And I would note: Do our expectations dictate our attitude? From my experience I think this is true.
Can we change our attitude in the morning, at breakfast, perhaps to navigate our presence into a more positive and constructive day? I think so.
